session two: a month later we fly to El Paso

Sonic Ranch is essentially a hacienda situated in the middle of two thousand acres of pecan trees abutting the Mexican border

it is also completely awesome

even John is relaxed (!)

these orchards account for a statistically significant percentage of the world's annual pecan production

things get a little less bucolic as you approach the border

until ... ta-daa! A twenty-foot-high fence keeping the third world at bay

oh Rio, Rio, hear them shout across the land...
