The Celebration (continued)

The exceptionally photogenic Catherine and Michael.

The slightly less photogenic — and at this point, wholly inebriated — Mountain Goats.

Mission accomplished, thinks Tony.

I don't know who these women are. They climbed up on the bench and started dancing.

We started dancing too.
"Things will shortly get completely out of hand," goes a line from one of the songs we recorded.
This is things getting out of hand.

These guys started break dancing.
The bar closed at two; it took 'em half an hour to get us all out of there.

Tony talked the bartenders into selling him a sixer to go (barely visible in John's right hand).

Everyone walked down the street to Dave's at 3 am. We didn't leave until after 4. Sorry Dave!

In the morning it snowed. John insists, accurately, that it was hail, not snow.
Still, the effect was the same. It snowed.

We pulled out of Cassadaga around one Sunday afternoon.
Looking for football on the radio, we found only news: "America fights back!"
Recording is like being in a bubble — you work like crazy and nothing exists outside the studio.
It was nice to get away from the world for a week. I'd love to go back.
